Terminating & Restoring a Patent

The protection period of a registered patent or for filing an application for granting a patent, may be terminated prior to the expiry of the maximum protection period, due to failure to timely renew or due to the abandonment of the right or due to annulment of the right by court order.

In case of termination due to failure to timely renew or abandonment of right, a patent or its application may be restored.

The search for a patent can be completed faster and and more efficiently by utilising the available electronic search for patents.
