Seminar for Intellectual Property Professionals – EUIPO Boards of Appeal – Department of Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property
The Department of Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property, in cooperation with the EUIPO Boards of Appeal, is organising a seminar for intellectual property professionals.

Participants will be awarded the relevant CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits.
The seminar will include presentations by the President and Members of the EUIPO Boards of Appeal, as well as by a representative of the Law Office of the Republic of Cyprus and Cypriot professionals in the field.
The seminar will cover, among other topics, recent developments and decisions of the EUIPO Boards of Appeal, recent developments in Cypriot trade mark case-law, as well as issues relating to designs and the implications of the new EU Design Regulation. It will also address the assessment of the likelihood of confusion between trade marks, with particular emphasis on cases where similarity essentially resides in a weak or non-distinctive element, as well as the issue of “weak marks” from the perspective of legal practice.
