Certificate of Validation

Proof of receipt of documents

After the receipt of your application, the Intellectual Property Section issues the relevant proof of receipt and notifies you of the relevant application number and date.

Typical examination

The examination stage follows, during which the Section examines whether the application meets the typical requirements set by the legislation as to information, data and documents that must be included in it. If there are any pending issues, the Department will send you a relevant notice, notifying you to take the necessary actions in relation to your application.

Issue of Certificate

Provided that all necessary prerequisitves prescribed by legislation are met, the Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property issues the Certificate of Validation of European Patent Submission and proceeds to its publication in the Official Gazette.

Certified Copies

In case you wish to secure the issuance of certified copies of an application for granting a patent or of a granted patent, you can submit a request for obtaining certified copies of patent.
