Rights granted by copyright

Payment of compensations

The holder of copyright or neighbouring right receives compensation in the event that anyone carries out, among others, the following actions:

  • sound recording of literary or musical work, as well as reproduction of such sound recording with beneficiary’s permission;
  • broadcasting of published work, for which no collective management organisation or independent management entity is interested;
  • reproduction in any work or other material that is made by a natural person for private use and for no direct or indirect commercial purposes;
  • reproduction on paper or similar material, using any kind of photographic technique;
  • reproduction of programs on behalf of non-profit social institutions;
  • use of orphan works or protected objects, the status of which has been terminated by the right holders.

It is noted that, where there is no agreement, or in case of disagreement regarding the amount of compensation, the parties may apply to the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Authority.
