Types of Trademarks

The following types of Trademarks can be registered:

Word marks consists of words and/or letters and/or numbers in a standard font and layout, without graphic elements or colour, that may be typed.                                                               

Figurative marks consist of non-standard characters, stylistic font or layout, graphic elements and/or colour. They may consist exclusively of figurative or graphic elements or a combination of word and figurative elements.

Three-dimensional marks consist of or extend to a three-dimensional shape, including the containers and boxes, the packaging, the product itself or their appearance. Trademarks of this type consist either exclusively of three-dimensional marks or of three-dimensional marks that contain word elements.

 

Position marks concern the particular manner a trademark is placed or  affixed to the product.                                                              

 Pattern marks consist exclusively of a set of elements which are repeated regularly.                                                                                                                  

                                                                                                                             

Colour marks consist of a particular shade of a colour or a combination of colours, excluding the outlines. Consequently, along with the colour mark, protection is requested for one or more colours of the trademark.

 

 Sound marks consist exclusively of a sound or a combination of sounds.

Motion marks consist of or extend to a movement or a change in the position of the elements of a trademark.

Multimedia marks consist of or extend to a combination of images and sound.                                                                                      

 

          
Hologram marks consist of elements with holographic characteristics.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

Certification marks are trademarks capable of distinguishing products or services which are certified by the proprietor of the mark in respect of the material, the mode of products' manufacture or service provision, the quality, the accuracy or other characteristics.                                                                                         

Collective marks are capable of distinguishing the products or services of the members of the beneficiary's organisation from the products or services of other enterprises.
